Abstract. There is an amount of relatively close events in seismic records of coherent seismic arrays. These events must be recognized and interpreted correctly in order to avoid clogging of the event catalog at the stage of processing of seismic records. The solution of this problem requires the classification of records of local events according to its nature and the creation of a data bank with the most characteristic samples. In this paper we consider the records from Mikhnevo small aperture seismic array. The epicenters of the considered events located in 5 km or less from the center of seismic array. We classified events by the use of cluster analysis, cross-correlation analysis and wavelet analysis. Events were identified, accompanied by the arrival of only surface waves, as well as events represented by body, surface and acoustic waves. The events of the sonic boom type were classified as a separate category by the using of cross-correlation processing. A small set of weak events with a supposedly natural genesis was also found. Spatially these events located near the ravine slopes and could be triggered by slope activity such as landslide. As a result, a bank of waveforms of local seismic events was formed. This will allow them to automate their identification in the future, in development of landslide detection systems and to improve the research of the seismicity of the Eastern European platform.
