Abstract. A multichannel system of continuous recording of acoustic emission signals is developed. The system is designed for continuous and synchronous recording of acoustic emission (AE) flow from 21 piezoelectric sensors. It is used as part of the hardware and software laboratory complex for testing of rocks under uniaxial and three-axis deformation. It is based on analog-to-digital converters E20-10 produced by the Russian company LCard. Digitizing frequency up to 7.5 MHz per channel allows detailed analysis of AE signals with frequencies up to 750 kHz. The 40 dB pre-amplifier unit has a bandwidth of 1.5 to 750 kHz. The system records continuously throughout the test. At the end of the recording, acoustic events are searched and identified in a wide dynamic range of amplitudes and energies with minimal loss/omission of individual AE events. Location of AE signal sources in combination with the developed zoning algorithm increases the number of AE signals for which coordinates can be determined.
Keywords: acoustic emission, ultrasonic sensing, registration of AE signals, location of signals sources, hardware design.
