Refining calibration functions
for determining local earthquake magnets
of the Altae-Sayan mountain region

Abstract. The study is aimed at improving methods for assessing magnitudes in the Altai-Sayan mountain region. The features of the attenuation of the maximum displacement amplitudes in terms of the Wood–Anderson seismographs for three regions: Gorny Altai, Tuva, and Kuzbass are considered. Noticeable differences were found between regional and classical calibration curves, as well as less significant between the named regions of the region. The formula for the correlation between ML and Kr is refined.
