Abstract. A universal piezoelectric seismometer is proposed that provides simultaneous recording of linear and angular accelerations through two separate channels. The principle of operation of the seismometer and the features of its design are described, mechanical and electrical circuits are considered. The device uses two-element piezoelectric sensors of linear and angular accelerations with a total inertial mass. The principle of addition and compensation of electrical signals is implemented. Channel sensitivities are tied to real values of seismic vibrations. Based on the analysis of a large number of records of seismic vibrations, the parameters of the seismometer suitable for use in the near zones of strong earthquakes are proposed.

Keywords: piezoelectric transducers, linear and angular accelerations, strong earthquake motion, parameters of rotational and translational seismic vibrations, piezoelectric accelerometers
